Executive Summary/Introduction
The customer provides medical professional development tools and resources to military members across all naval duty stations to foster an operational readiness and state-of-the-art medical readiness knowledge and skills. To carry out its mission, the organization maintains extensive enrollment records for various courses and training programs for their customers.
Challenge
This inherited system is based on obsolete technology which made it unstable and unreliable. This led to inefficient data management and impacted system integrity. As a result, it was critical that the system be brought up to modern technology standards to ensure smooth operation for the organization and its customers. QSMI sought to provide on demand maintenance, support, and engineering during the system upgrade.
How Our Services Helped
The QSMI Team’s main goal was to support the customer by assisting with finding solutions to improve system reliability and availability, anticipating problems, and troubleshooting customer support issues. QSMI team implemented that objective by:
• Providing on call remote and onsite maintenance support during system failures and performance problems
• Assisting end users with customer support.
• Providing database engineering services to maintain and enhance the program to improve reliability and performance.
• Providing software development, sustainment and other technical support needed to resolve performance issues.
Benefits /Results
QSMI was able to assist the customer in reducing the downtime and unreliable information in their system by providing database solutions to bring the system to modern technology standards. QSMI provided customer support to end users to assist users with login and signup issues. The customer was provided a clear solution to streamline the system for maximum efficiency and minimum system downtime or data loss. The results are summarized below:
• Development and sustainment of system that tracks student nominations and selection process for health and medical courses at the teaching hospital at NAVMED-Bethesda.
• Provide ongoing system and end-user support – scheduled and on-call.
• Agile development.
• Integration of software into NAVMED-Bethesda’s IT infrastructure.
• Responsible for ensuring Next Gen compliance with all the Agency security requirements by preparing all the documentation (System Security Plan, Privacy Impact Analysis (PIA), Privacy Threshold Analysis (PTA), Contingency Plan, etc.) and passing the concurrency exam.
