Job Description:
QSMI is seeking a creative and resourceful data visualization designer to join our company as a member of the Budget & Contracts System Team. The role will be enhancing visual aesthetics and user experience for financial, workforce and contracts data. The core responsibility for this role includes brainstorming creative ideas with the project manager and technical team, developing visual concepts into work products for review and approval. Strong collaboration with customers to successfully integrate the design concepts into the final deliverables, and develop similar design prototypes for our other branded products. Experience developing concise and elegant visualizations from large numeric data sets. The position requires solid visual design and troubleshooting skills, as well as an eye for detail.
This is a full-time, permanent direct-hire position on a project team

Successful candidates will have:
- The attention to detail to take direction from customers and the project manager to translate financial and other administrative data into impactful, creative visual solutions and work side-by-side with a diverse team of software developers and financial analysts to iterate and implement designs.
- Excellent writing skills and use of proper grammar
- Ability to effectively present creative data design ideas and recommendations to stakeholders and influence product design strategy
- Ability to design across multiple tools and platforms (for example: Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, Adobe Illustrator, Python, R, etc.)
- Establish guideline/playbook/template to uniformly integrate visual design best practices for various reports, including dashboards, slide presentations, Microsoft Office content, etc.
- Discriminating eye for color aesthetics with a critical eye for pixel perfection
- Bring fresh ideas, new technologies, and inspiration to your team and customers.
- Develop clear and concise visuals from complicated financial and administrative data to meet the customer’s business needs
- Experience in the design of logos, icons, and info graphics
Qualifications:Other Requirements: Due to the nature of some contracts, U.S. Citizenship is required. A background investigation or security clearance is required.
